THE PLAY ANALYZER

Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 15, 2026

1. Introduction

This policy explains what information The Play Analyzer (“we,” “us”) collects when you use our AI-powered sports video analysis platform, why we collect it, and the choices you have. By using the service, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information we collect

Account information. Your email address, a hashed password (we never see or store it in plain text — this is handled by our authentication provider, Supabase), and, if you provide it, your name and whether you signed up as a coach, student, or other.

Footage and content you upload. Video files you upload, recordings you save from the analysis workspace, and the names of players you add to your roster to organize that footage.

Billing information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number — we only receive your subscription status (plan, billing dates) back from Stripe.

Basic usage data. Standard technical logs (timestamps, error reports) generated by our hosting and database providers to keep the service running and secure.

3. AI pose tracking and your footage

Pose tracking, joint-angle measurement, and motion-phase detection all run entirely in your browser, on your device. Your video is never sent to us, to any AI provider, or to any third party for this analysis — the model runs locally via WebAssembly, and only the resulting on-screen overlay is ever produced. We never receive or store pose-tracking data itself, only the video and recording files you choose to upload or save.

4. How we use your information

  • To provide the service: storing and displaying your footage, running your analysis workspace, and managing your player roster.
  • To manage your account and, if applicable, your subscription and billing.
  • To send you essential transactional emails — sign-up confirmation, password reset, billing receipts (sent by Stripe on our behalf).
  • To maintain the security and reliability of the service.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use your footage to train AI models.

5. Who we share information with

We use a small number of service providers (“sub-processors”) to run the platform:

  • Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage.
  • Stripe — subscription billing and payment processing.
  • Netlify — application hosting.

Each only receives the data it needs to perform its function, under its own privacy and security commitments. We don't share your data with anyone else, except where required by law.

Share links. If you record a breakdown and generate a short share link, anyone who has that link can view the recording — it doesn't require them to have an account. Treat share links as you would any file you're handing someone directly, and only send them to people you intend to have access.

6. How long we keep your data

How long your uploaded footage and recordings are kept depends on your plan:

  • Starter — footage is automatically deleted 7 days after upload.
  • Coach — footage is automatically deleted 28 days after upload.
  • Academy — footage is kept until you delete it yourself.

You can delete any video, recording, or player from your roster at any time. Your account information is kept while your account is active; contact us if you'd like your account and all associated data permanently deleted.

7. Footage of minors

The Play Analyzer is intended for use by coaches and other adults, not for account creation by children. That said, we recognize that footage uploaded to the service will very often show minors — youth athletes being coached. If you're recording or uploading footage of someone under 18, you're responsible for making sure you have appropriate permission from a parent or guardian before doing so.

If you're a parent or guardian and believe footage of your child has been uploaded without proper consent, contact us and we'll remove it.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under data protection law (including the GDPR, for users in the EU/EEA and UK) to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict how we process it. We extend these same rights to all our users regardless of location. Most of this you can already do yourself in the app — delete a video, recording, or player at any time — and you can contact us for anything else, including full account deletion.

9. Cookies

We use a single essential cookie set by our authentication provider to keep you signed in. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

10. International data transfers

Our infrastructure providers may store and process data in countries other than your own. Where this involves transferring data out of the EU/EEA or UK, we rely on the safeguards those providers have in place (such as standard contractual clauses).

11. Security

Your footage is stored in private, access-controlled storage — never publicly listed — and our database uses row-level security so you can only ever query your own data. Data is encrypted in transit. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable, industry-standard measures to protect your information.

12. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you directly.
